1) Cut holes in your jeans.
Holes in jeans are SO IN right now. I was hesitant to follow the trend at first, but they really do give your outfit so much dimension! I love how casual is is, and even how flattering they can be depending on where the holes are. ALSO– buying jeans with holes are MORE expensive than buying them without, so cutting them yourself can save you a lot of money! So grab an old pair of jeans and some scissors and get crackin! Here’s an easy video tutorial.
2) NEUTRAL EVERYTHING.
You can literally get away with wearing neutral EVERYTHING, and you will be the chicest one on the block. Neutral colors like grey, white and black look so good paired together. So if you’re having one of those days that you can’t seem to find anything that goes together, then grab a pair of black jeans and a black top, and you’re good to go!
3) Mix n’ match your pieces.
Since I am a hard-core outfit repeater, this tip is one of my personal favorites. I have a few comfy pieces that I love to wear, and I would wear them everyday if I could… SO I DO. Mixing and matching is SO easy to do, and it’s so funny how much you can get away with it. All you need to do is switch your staple pieces around. You can go from looking completely casual to looking fashionista in seconds literally wearing the same pieces all week!
4) Bring out the clothes you haven’t worn in years.
You may have thought it would never come back into style… but think again. Out of all of the trends that have occurred in this century, I NEVER thought the 90’s would be one to come back. BUT HOLY WOW! Denim on denim is IN? I guess so! I am so happy that I waited to throw away/ donate some of my clothes because the styles have totally come back! This will definitely help save you some money!
There are so many days where I leave the house wearing a shirt, pants, and shoes. (Hopefully everyone does that?) But sometimes I can’t help but to feel SO bored with my outfit. One way to completely fix this is to DRESS IT UP! Some different ways to do this? Add a hat! Add a necklace. Add TWO for all I care! This may call for some detangling through your jewelry box (who doesn’t have at least one tangled necklace at all times?) but it is WORTH IT! It can totally create a new look for you.
If you follow me on my Instagram, you know that I’m a huge advocate of layering! Especially as it starts getting warmer, layering is perfect for transitioning into Spring! This doesn’t mean wearing a huge puffer coat, but you know all of those light jackets/ vests you’ve had in your closet for months that you haven’t been able to wear because it was too cold outside? Bring those babies out! You will love what they can do for you.
7) Get out those SUMMER clothes!
Remember that summer bag of clothes you packed up months ago? I swear– every single year, when it starts getting warmer, I’ll pull out my big bag of summer clothes from the back of my closet, and it’s like CHRISTMAS MORNING. There are so many things that I’m like “I FORGOT I HAD THIS!” Does this happen to anyone else? This will give you an immediate refresher so you don’t have to keep wearing the same things you’ve worn for the past 6 months!
You don’t need to buy yourself a whole new wardrobe to create some new outfits. I guarantee you that there are so many different, new outfit combinations in your closet that are waiting to be made. My goal is to help you save money and still look fab. Thank you so much for reading. If you liked this post, share it with your friends! And don’t forget to follow ME for outfit inspiration as well!
